I like many people, mostly women, are relieved that chocolate is not prescribed a doctor;
but the necessity to regulate one’s consumption is still a major part of a healthy lifestyle
Although wellness is a personal journey, connecting wellness to the community enhances the community exponentially.
Making access to personalized, family nutritional counsel should be a top priority
Hosting informational sessions in accessible locations throughout the region about specific aspects of nutrition coordinated with health fairs, recipe swaps, support groups, chronic health groups or cooking classes
Sessions could revolve around meal planning, shopping, budgeting
healthier choices while eating out/prepared food
guides to soup kitchens pantries as well as
farmers markets and local community garden sales
we also can encourage
the corner store initiative, getting fresh produce into our micro-markets
raising awareness about vegetarianism phases/levels
nutritional awareness including ingredient and nutritional label reading
and benefits of vitamins and supplements.
